When arranging a custom tour, the main options to be decided upon are:

• The region or regions for the tour
  Explore one particular region, or link two or three regions together.
  
  
• Start date
  A custom tour can start on any date you choose – we can usually confirm availability of your preferred dates within 48 hours.
  
  
• Duration of the tour
  We can set up a 3 day tour – or a 3 week tour We can build rest days into the itinerary, or include days when there is the option of alternative activities such as hiking, fishing, pony trekking, sea kayaking etc.
  
  
• Mileage and terrain
  Choose the daily mileage range and the type of terrain that best suits your group.
  
  
• Accommodation
  Depending upon preferences and upon your budget, you can choose between hotels, guesthouses, B & B’s, hostels and campgrounds for your tour accommodation.
  
  
• Meals
  In most types of accommodation (not hostels or campgrounds) breakfast is included. With some types (hotels and guesthouses), you can also choose to have dinner included.
  
  
• Bicycles
  Bring your own bikes or rent from us.
  
  
• Luggage transfers
  This is an option that most custom groups take up.
  
  
• Airport transfers
  A particular convenience for groups bringing their own bicycles. The group (plus bicycles) is met at the airport on arrival and ferried to the trailhead. At the end of the tour, there is a transfer back to the airport for departure.
  
  
• Sag wagon and driver/guide
  If there is a wide variety of cycling ability in the group then a sag wagon may be well worth considering.
  
  
• Cycling guide
  A local cycling guide can be a welcome addition to the tour. Besides being a rich source of information about the region, the cycling guide will bring up the rear, gathering up any stragglers along the way.
  

The cost of a Custom Group Tour – and what you get for the money!

The cost of a custom tour depends upon a number of factors that can be divided into individual costs and group costs.

• Individual costs apply to each person and are more or less independent of group numbers (although when group numbers rise above 12, it is often possible to negotiate discounted rates for accommodation and/or meals with accommodation providers).

• Group costs are shared – becoming less for each person as group numbers increase.
