The Iron Donkey offers two one-week (7 nights) guided group tours
in England. Each itinerary is limited to 12 participants, so early
booking is advisable.
The tours are guided by Tony Boyd, the Iron Donkey himself. Tony,
who lived in the West of England for several years, mapped the routes
and designed the itineraries. Both tours start and finish in Bath
– and if your schedule allows we recommend that you consider
spending an extra night or two in this beautiful city before or
after the bike tour.

If one particular region evokes the classical English images of
picture postcard villages, thatched cottages, medieval churches,
ancient inns, and clear streams bubbling through a rural idyll,
it is surely the Cotswolds. If you only get to tour by bicycle once
in England, then the Cotswolds is a region that should figure high
on your list of desirable options. Every village along the wonderful
biking routes is a new delight just begging to be explored.

Wessex is a region of great and diverse natural beauty, and the
tour provides a succession of stunning landscapes - The Mendips
and Cheddar Gorge, the Somerset Levels, the valley of the beautiful
River Wylye, Salisbury Plain and the Marlborough Downs are visited
in turn. The area is enriched by a wealth of historical and architectural
attractions including Stonehenge and Avebury, Wells Cathedral, Stourhead,
Longleat House and the Wiltshire White Horses. For a perfect blend
of scenery, attractions and interest sites, it would be hard to
find a better tour!
