Tour Overview

This itinerary, starting and finishing in Killarney, concentrates on the Iveragh peninsula – renowned in particular for the spectacular coastal scenery on the Ring of Kerry. This tour will appeal to those who have done some bicycle touring before and who enjoy the challenge of a few hills.

From the start point in Killarney the first ride takes you south over the Gap of Dunloe to Kenmare for a two night stopover. There are several options for the loop ride. Leaving Kenmare you ride west on the famous Ring of Kerry around the Iveragh peninsula. The resort of Waterville at the western end of the peninsula is the next two night stopover. The loop from here takes you around Valentia Island with the option to take a boat trip out to the Skelligs. The next leg takes you through the interior of the peninsula to Glenbeigh. The final ride takes you around the lakes and returns you to Killarney.
